The best games you can play with one thumb

One-handed games are their own little art form. The whole design has to work from a single point of contact, usually the bottom of the screen, and the best ones make that limitation invisible.

Lucky Coin is a clean example. One tap flicks the coin, and that's the entire control scheme. Everything the game asks of you comes through timing rather than buttons, and it never feels cramped.

Racing can work one-handed too, though it's trickier. Dust Rally leans on tilt for steering and a single tap for braking, which frees up your other hand entirely.

The test I use is whether I can play while standing on a bus, holding a rail. If a game passes that, it's earned a spot in my one-thumb rotation.
