Mobile RPGs that don't waste your evening
Most mobile RPGs assume you have hours to burn. A lot of us don't. The good ones find a way to deliver party building and tactics in sessions you can actually finish on a train.
Emberwatch is my current favorite here. Its turn-based fights are quick to read, and swapping gear genuinely changes how a battle unfolds. You never feel like you're just pressing attack to watch numbers go up.
The trick these games pull is trimming the fat. No hundred-slot inventory to sort, no filler quests padding the map. Every ability you unlock feels like it opens a new option in a fight.
If you've bounced off mobile RPGs before because they felt like a second job, try one built for shorter play. The genre is better than its reputation.
