Emberwatch
★★★★☆ 4.3
Emberwatch is the kind of RPG that respects your time. Battles are turn-based and readable, so you can plan a full round in the time it takes an elevator to arrive. The party of four each has a distinct role, and swapping their gear actually changes how a fight plays out.
The story is light but charming, more about the little towns you pass through than any grand save-the-world speech. I liked that side quests were short and hand-written rather than fetch-quest filler. Progression feels steady, and by mid-game you're juggling a real toolkit of abilities.
Menus are tidy and the auto-battle option is there for grinding, though I rarely needed it. A solid mobile RPG that doesn't drown you in systems.
What we liked
- Fast, readable turn-based combat
- Gear choices that matter
- No bloated menus
